MEPCO electricity Breakdown After Rain Causes Major Outages in Multan and Nearby Areas.

A long dry spell ended with a little rain on Wednesday (February 19, 2025) in Multan City and surrounding areas. But this blessing resulted in a big power breakdown in the MEPCO distribution Region.

The MEPCO electricity distribution is badly affected as some of its main lines have been burnt and out of order since yesterday at 13:00 Hours.

Yesterday most of its grid stations were offline causing electricity shutdown in most parts of the MEPCO coverage area including Multan city, Vehari, Mailsi, Khanewal, Duniapur, Lodhran, Kabirwala, Mianchannu etc.

The MEPCO staff is working and trying their best to resolve the issue at all the fault sites as early as possible. The issue is resolved in some sites and the electricity is supplied but there the issue still persist in most parts causing no electricity in those particular areas.

Those affected areas include duniapur, mailsi, Kabirwala and several other stations. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved completely by tonight (20th February 2025) in all parts of the MEPCO region.

Note: Maintenance work has been completed and Electricity is recovered through the region at 17:00 Hours on February 20, 2025.
